Subject: NFL FLAG Combine Success + Season Updates 🏈

Dear NFL Flag Families,

Our first-ever NFL FLAG Combine Camp was a huge success! Thank you to all the athletes, families, coaches, and volunteers who came out and made the event such a great experience. For our first year running the combine, everything stayed on schedule and we made adjustments throughout the day to keep things moving as smoothly as possible. We appreciate everyone’s patience with the longer lines.

We are excited to share that the league is now at 551 registrations!

Current Division Breakdown:
• 6U – 10 Teams
• 8U – 16 Teams
• 10U – 16 Teams
• 12U – 10 Teams
• 14U / High School – 6 Teams

Due to lower enrollment in the High School division, we will be combining Middle School and High School Athletes. Still creating fair and balanced teams with the combine scores.

The combine scores were fantastic — every athlete did an amazing job. These scores give us great data to help create fair and balanced teams across the entire league. I am currently entering all the combine data and building the teams. We are still on track for teams to go live in the app Wednesday evening.

Once teams are published, I will send instructions for downloading the Sports Connect Stack Team App. You will use your same Sports Connect login and password to access team information. Please be patient as I finalize the teams.

Optional Second Combine Camp

Hello Flag Football Families,

The wait is over — Combine Camp is tomorrow and the 2026 Spring Season officially begins! We are excited to welcome all of our athletes, families, and coaches out to the field.

📍 Location (All Season Long):
Samuel Jackman Middle School

All combine camps and every game this season will be held at this same location.

Combine Camp Schedule

Please arrive on time to check in and receive your scorecard and participant number.

• 6U Division: 8:30 AM
• 8U Division: 10:00 AM
• 10U Division: 11:30 AM
• 12U Division: 1:00 PM
• 14U & High School Division: 2:00 PM

I spaced each division about 1.5 hours apart so athletes have plenty of time to rotate through the stations. Most will finish well before that time, but this gives everyone a comfortable window to complete all stations.

👕 Coaches

Please arrive 20 minutes early to check in and get set up at your assigned stations.

You will receive:
• Coaches shirt
• Clipboard & scorecards
• Stopwatch
• Footballs
• Station instructions

The coaches meeting went great, and we have a strong group this season! If you are still interested in helping coach or volunteering, come talk to me tomorrow and we will find a spot for you.

📈 Registration Update

This program is almost at maximum capacity!

 8U and 10U divisions will likely close registration by the end of the day tomorrow.

We will be capping those divisions at 12 teams total per division. 

Registration will Increase to $180 tomorrow. March 14th

🏟 Important Notes for Families

• There are no bleachers or seating — please bring a lawn chair
• Water is recommended
• Snack bar will be open with drinks and food items

👟 Equipment Recommendations

• Cleats are highly recommended (we are playing on grass)
• If your child does not have cleats yet, that is OK for combine camp
• Please try to have cleats before the first game

You can use:
• Soccer cleats
• Football cleats

The most important thing is comfort and lightweight movement for speed and agility.

🧤 Gloves are allowed but not mandatory.

If you applied for the NFL FLAG grant but have not yet been approved, please complete your registration today if possible.

Once your grant is approved, I will refund the $100 grant amount back to your account.

Due to the deadline for our first jersey order and with registration almost at maximum capacity, we want to make sure your athlete does not miss out on participating this season.

This combine camp is something new we’re introducing this season, and it will take all of us working together to make it great. Feel free to jump in and help if needed.

Things are officially lining up — literally!

Today we completed a full field walk-through at Samuel Jackman Middle School with the Principal and our field painter to finalize our field layout for the season. Everything is coming together and we are very excited about how the fields are going to look this year.

The fields will be professionally painted next Friday, just in time for our Combine Camp, so families and athletes will be able to see exactly how our game day fields will be set up.

The momentum around this season has been incredible. We are now sitting at over 370 registrations, which is far ahead of where we were this time last year. The excitement, support from families, and volunteer coaches stepping up has been amazing.

Below are some important updates and upcoming events.

Car Wash Fundraiser – This Sunday

We will be hosting a Car Wash Fundraiser this Sunday from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the Chevron located at 3900 Fruit Ridge Road in Sacramento.

This fundraiser helps sponsor athletes and purchase new equipment for the 2026 Spring Season.

• The car wash will run in a drive-through style setup
• Volunteers and families can park in the back of the station
• Anyone helping participate will receive a FREE Hot Dog Meal (hot dog, chips, and soda)

This will be a fun community event and a great way to support kids in the program.

Combine Camp – Important

Our first Combine Camp is coming up March 14 and it is very important that athletes attend.

Pre-Season Camp & Combine

Dates: March 14th & March 21st
Location: Samuel Jackman Middle School

Times by Division

6U — 8:30 AM
8U — 10:00 AM
10U — 11:30 AM
12U — 1:00 PM
14U & High School — 2:30 PM

When you arrive at combine camp:

• Check in your athlete
• Receive a player number and scorecard
• Athletes rotate through 6 different skill stations

Stations include speed, agility, passing, catching, defensive skills, and football ability.

Each athlete will carry their scorecard from station to station while coaches record scores. These results help us build balanced and competitive teams.

The day after combine camp we will begin building team rosters and submitting the jersey order by Monday nightto ensure jerseys arrive in time for orientation.

Registration Price Update

Registration has remained $150 Until March 13th, on March 14th the price will increase to $180 .

This allows us to rush jersey production and equipment orders so everything arrives on time for the season.

Orientation Day

Orientation will be busy as we distribute jersey bags and gear backpacks.

• Orientation will be conducted by division time slots
• Athletes must attend during their assigned division time

Once athletes receive their gear, they can meet their coach, try on jerseys, and coaches may run a light practice and team meeting.

Once teams are finalized, we will launch communication through the Stack Team App, which will be our main platform for:

• Coach communication
• Game schedules
• Practice times
• Field assignments
• League announcements

First Game Day

Our first game day is Saturday, April 4.

Saturday Game Day Schedule

Game Times: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

6U — 8:30 – 10:00 AM
8U — 9:30 – 11:30 AM
10U — 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM
12U — 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM
14U — 12:30 – 2:30 PM
High School — 1:30 – 3:30 PM

Each team will have:

• 30 minutes to 1 hour practice
• Followed by 1 hour game

Season Structure

• 10-week season
• All teams make the playoffs
• Regular season records determine playoff seeding

Championship Day is currently scheduled for June 6, though this could adjust depending on division sizes.

Kings Game – League Outing

We are organizing a fun league outing to a Sacramento Kings game on March 15 (the day after Combine Camp).

• Tickets are $35 per person
• Each ticket includes a Kings hat

This is not a fundraiser, just a great opportunity for families, players, and coaches to attend a game together and sit as a group.

Since tickets must be purchased all at once, please email or text me to reserve your tickets.

Seats are currently in Section 207.
I will discuss payment options over text or email once tickets are reserved.

NFL Grant Application Update

We have received an overwhelming response to the NFL FLAG grant program.

So far:

• 120+ grant applications have already been processed
• More applications are still being processed and coming in next week

We have applied the $100 NFL grant credits to all approved accounts.

For those who received the grant, there is a remaining $50 balance per registration and a $3 processing fee.

Due to the sheer volume of applications — nearly six times more than expected — our program unfortunately does not have the budget available to cover the additional $50 balance for every athlete.

If you received a grant, please:

• Log into your account
• Verify your registration
• Pay the remaining $50 balance

This balance must be cleared before Combine Camp so we can finalize team assignments and jersey orders. Your Child will not be placed on a team with an Open Balance. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

Our Combine Camps are open to everyone — registered players and new families interested in learning more about flag football.

This is a great opportunity to:

We have an important announcement regarding age divisions:

The birthday cutoff date has changed to August 1, 2025.

This update was made so our league aligns and runs parallel with the National NFL FLAG age cutoff date and rules. Moving forward, your child’s division will be determined by the age they were on August 1, 2025, not their current age during the season.

This alignment helps ensure consistency with regional and national events and keeps our athletes eligible for broader opportunities.

If you have any questions about which division your athlete falls into, please don’t hesitate to reach out — we’re here to help.

We’re adding something brand new and exciting this year: NFL FLAG Draft & Combine Camps!

📅 Saturday, March 14 & Saturday, March 21

Athletes will go through stations with different drills and will be evaluated based on performance at each drill. This is designed to help athletes:

• Get comfortable on the field

• Learn and compete in a fun way

• Build confidence regardless of skill level

• Meet coaches and other athletes

• Break the ice early before the season starts

✅ Most importantly: Teams will be formed evenly and fairly to keep divisions skill-balanced and competitive.

Another BIG goal this year is to build All-Star Travel Teams for each division to compete in:

• NFL FLAG Regionals

• and hopefully qualify and attend Nationals in July

This is an extension of our program and an awesome opportunity for athletes who want to compete at the highest level. I’m currently in communication with the NFL FLAG Events Team to confirm our best options, logistics, and requirements.

Age/Birthday Requirement for Regionals & Nationals

✅ Athletes will compete based on whatever age they are on August 1, 2025.

We are actively recruiting coaches and volunteers for this season. No experience is required — we will provide support, structure, and everything you need.

What's Up, Sacramento Youth Flag Family!! I hope this email finds everyone well and Excited for the 2026 NFL Flag Spring Season. Our First sucessful year is in the books, with 391 Athletes participated in our program. 2026 Will be even Bigger and Better.

News and Updates
Registration will open Before December 1st.
Im Currently finalizing the details on our field location and dates
Season will run from March to June
I'm working on moving game days to Saturday instead of Sunday
We are shooting for 2 practice days a week this year
There will be pre season one day Skills Camp
Followed by a one day Combine/Camp
Followed by Jersey and Equipment bag distribution (Orientation Day)
I'm still working out the details on a potential Draft of Teams and how that would work
Copy/Photo Upload of Birth Certificates will be required at Registration
Whatever Age your Child is on April 1st is the Age they will be Competing as.
