About Us
Thank you for taking the time to learn about Sacramento Youth Flag Football. We are excited to be heading into our second season after an incredible inaugural year.
Our first season featured an amazing 10-week program with 391 athletes, 32 NFL Flag teams, and 6 divisions serving youth ages 5–17 years old. We are proud to say that we are now the largest NFL Flag Football league in Sacramento, and we also offer the longest season, expanding to 13 weeks this year.
To help level the playing field and create balanced competition, we are implementing a two-week preseason Camp Combine, followed by a player draft. This approach allows athletes to be placed in the best position to grow, compete, and succeed.
We welcome all skill levels and focus on developing the complete athlete—football skills, physical ability, mental toughness, and strong character. Our goal is not only to provide great coaches, but true mentors who positively impact our athletes on and off the field. A great coach can truly help mold an athlete’s future.
This season, we are also excited to introduce a postseason program. We will put together two teams from each division to compete at the NFL Flag Regional level in June, with the opportunity to advance to NFL Flag Junior Nationals.
Sacramento Youth Flag President Joshua Olmstead, alongside Marcus Williams, shares a dream of bringing together youth of all ages, ethnicities, cultures, and backgrounds. Our mission is to put the unity into community—to compete, have fun, build friendships, and create lasting memories.
We strive to teach young athletes the values of overcoming adversity, never giving up, determination, and consistency.
This program is nothing without the athletes, parents, coaches, and community coming together. We are committed to continually growing and expanding—welcoming new families, coaches, and most importantly, athletes—as we build something truly special in Sacramento.
